The Richmond School District is seeking a part-time (0.4286 FTE) secondary Technology Education teacher.The teaching load for this assignment currently consists of three blocks of Woodwork 9-12 at R.C. Palmer Secondary.
The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to connect with and adapt learning experiences for students from diverse backgrounds and with a wide variety of learning needs and styles. Recent work experience must reflect a commitment to collaboration and teamwork and a willingness to work closely in a professional and supportive environment with members of the Tech Ed department, including shared classroom and workshop space. At Palmer, all teachers support and implement our school behavior expectations through "Palmer Pride".
In addition, all teachers at Palmer are expected to teach/facilitate sessions at our Careers Conference Days (dates TBD) and have demonstrated commitment to implementing all aspects of the new curriculum, including a focus on core competencies and inquiry-based, big ideas approach to teaching and learning. Finally, it is expected that all staff will be supporting and facilitating Palmer PLT -Personal Learning Time throughout the course of the school year.
The successful candidate must be a qualified Technology Education (Woodwork) teacher with current academic and professional preparation as well as teaching experience at all secondary grade levels. All candidates must be certified by the BC Ministry of Education – Teacher Regulation Branch.
